Day 3 of camp + mom and dad's lunches!

Dean and I have been taking our lunches a lot more lately.
They're not really picture worthy so I don't post about them much!
I had:
-Hummus
-Carrots
-Grapes
-Sweet peppers
-Turkey and provalone sandwich. ( I left them open and toasted the bread first so they wouldn't get super soggy... It SORT of worked. )
-The little spoon over the peppers is a ZAK! spoon. I found a set of 4 at Tuesday morning. I love their picks and was thrilled to find the mini spoons!

 Dean had:
-Chex Mix
-Homemade slaw ( ZAK! spoon for the slaw)
-Chicken and provalone sandwich.

For tomorrow, Taia has:

-Mini sandwich skewers made with my Fun Bites Cube It.
-Carrots
-Grapes
-Cheez Its

She also has several drinks and snacks!!

PLEASE excuse my awful cell phone pictures on my countertops.
It's complete laziness! I promise to get better!

Under The Sea Camp, Day 2!

I sent tons of extra food today for camp. 2 drinks. When I picked Taia up, the teacher asked me to send a snack tomorrow because Taia got hungry today. I informed her that I sent 3 snacks on top of Taia's lunch today. She told me that I did not.... Taia was very hungry because she didn't have enough food?!?! So I opened her lunchbox and she still has a FULL Easy Lunch Box, a bag of goldfish, and a banana!  I showed the teachers (by this point, two were involved) and they were all "OH!" Seriously, they didn't CHECK before accusing me of not sending enough? Apparently she told them that she didn't have a "snack." She told me that she thought everything in the lunchbox was her lunch and she should've had a different carrier for a snack? Ah well.

So tomorrow she has:
-Pop Chips
-Grapes
-Ham
-Some dye free treats a friend gave her
-Carrots
-Nutella sandwich ( I thought about making it cute with some cheese shapes or something but it's been a long day...)

For snacktime:
-A snack box of grapes for later
- Cheez-its
-Goldfish

3 thermoses:
-Fruit Juice
-Milk
-Water

HOPEFULLY she has enough for tomorrow! :)

FLAMINGO!

Those of you that KNOW me knew that it was
coming. And MORE are coming. :) I LOVE IT!

Taia loved this lunch! It's for tomorrow but I showed her in advance!
She has:
-Chips (requested)
-Trader Joe's Jelly Beans (DYE FREE of course!!)
-Grape Tomatoes on a Flamingo Pick
-A Fresh, locally grown carrot! (She has eaten at least 8 of these this weekend because "that's how bunnies eat them!!! Awesome! )
-Open Faced Salami, Ham (smooth salami - Taia speak....) and 'Mingo (more Taia speak) cheese sandwich on a potato roll!

All in all, I LOVE this lunch! Taia loves this lunch! Dean asked for a similar lunch for tomorrow! MOMMY, PASS! :) Opposed to my usual "MOMMY, FAILS!"

Under the Sea Camp this week!

I am looking forward to Taia's Under The Sea camp this week! The last few weeks of school were so busy that I didn't put much effort into her lunches. And I have missed them! I'm trying to come up with some unique ideas for Ocean themed lunches! Knowing me, I'll wind up with sandwiches with cheese creatures on top. But hey, they're still cute!

Anywho- I just wanted to check in and let y'all know I'm still here!!! Look for a guest post or two coming up!!

Salami and Ice Cream?

Taia discovered a new love for salami this weekend. Not the healthiest thing in the world, but it's not chicken nuggets! Progress! She has:

  • Trader Joe's Pita Crackers
  • Cheese Stick
  • Salami on an Ice Cream pick
  • Carrots
  • Ice Cream Shaped Watermelon

Dean and I also have bentos for tomorrow!! I only took a picture of his due to multi-tasking and it turned out fuzzy! He has:
  • Salsalito turkey sandwich on Ciabatta bread
  • Wholly Moly Spicy Guacamole with some Tostitos.
Mine is almost the same except mine has Mexican Crumbling cheese and instead of guacamole, I have a Mexican Layer dip!

Teacher Appreciation Week!!

Thank you Pinterest!!!! I found this awesome idea on two different blogs via Pinterest. The Butlers and It's Written on the Wall both have adorable versions!

It was actually cheap, easy and fun to make!

I'm assuming that Taia's teachers don't read my blog.... Or I wouldn't post this! :)

We have goodies planned for every day next week! I'll post as we go!

And Taia made one too! :)  I'll post pictures of that one when she'll let me! It's interesting... :) :)

Will I ever get caught up?

I've been so busy lately that I have been slacking (again) on blogging and frankly...... lunches! So here are a few randoms!

Taia's birthday lunch! A cupcake with a crown tiara, crown shaped cinnamon apples and a cheese sandwich with a cheese castle!
A croissant turkey and cheese sandwich, cheez-its, carrots and a white chocolate and natural food dye fishy left over from her party! Those were SO SO easy to make! They were actually on sticks but I popped this one off the stick to fit in our Easy Lunch Box!
I found that super cute cupcake container with a package of other cute containers in the Easter clearance at Kohl's! The package was $2! I put a few Trader Joe's jelly beans in this one! She also has some goldfish, carrots and a sandwich with a cheese butterfly.
(I'm not sure what happened to make this picture so fuzzy!!)

They're nothing fancy but she loves them!

I'm FAMOUS!!

Guess who made it onto Kelly's Easy Lunch Boxes Blog??!?!?!  THIS GIRL!!

Taia's 5th Under the Sea Birthday Bash!!

Taia's 5th birthday party was this past weekend! It was spectacular! Luckily we had tons of family and friends to help!  Most of the ideas came from Pinterest! Check out my Ariel Pinterest board for sources!! I have a TON more pictures and a TON more things I want to share. But I'm dying to get this posted!

A special thank you to all of my helpers and photographers!
You guys are the best family and friends a girl could ask for! I love you all!!

My amazing mother in law made me an Ariel dress!! I want to wear it EVERY day! I felt magical! I had to go to a scary side of town but I finally found a wig at the last minute! I was on the verge of dying my hair!!

I was planning on making all of the adults these adorable crab sandwiches. But making one as a centerpiece and laying out the meat and cheese seemed easier and more appropriate!
One of my closest friends helped make these great beach themed cupcakes! They were a hit!

My mother in law and her sister made these adorable favor bags!!

The favor table!!! We absolutely loved the way it turned out! It was a group effort! I am so lucky to have had so much help!!

The food table!

Octo Dogs!! My sister in law made these! They went FAST!

Dean threw together this great Octopus for our mailbox!

Peanut Butter and Jellyfish sandwiches! There were some nutella and PB, some PB and jelly, some plain pb, some plain nutella!!

The prize table!! We had LOTS of games. The kids earned pirate tokens with different color stars on them. Each star represented a prize bucket. They were able to redeem these towards the end of the party! It was fun but a little chaotic!
White Chocolate lollipops!! I used white chocolate melting chips and natural food coloring from Chocolate Craft Studio!
My mom made those adorable water bottle labels! We didn't get a clear picture of them but they said "Mermaid Water" and had a scene from "The Little Mermaid!" Adorable! The kids had a mint lemonade that Dean made and the adults had an adult version!

The Goldfish bar! It was a little hidden and didn't get much action. :( But Taia loved it!
Seashell painting!

There will be more photos to come! I haven't even sorted through the ones of the kids yet! I haven't found any super cute ones of Taia but I know there are tons!
